Newy and Maitland Parkrun Each week. Newcastle has become known as "the region of runners" so there are many parkruns locally to us. Our FLASH christmas party this year was at Mimni Parkrun. We are not all runners, many FLASHERS are walkers, those at the back of the pack, creating community and atmosphere of being out there and just achieving a 5km walk. If you can walk for half hour, you can do parkrun.

Each Monday night we play netball at Maitland Indoor Sports, Rutherford (near harvey norman). Every Monday night anyone can play. Times vary each week from 6pm till 8pm. Its $10 a game. 10 min quarters, 40 minutes total. As there is a few of us, there is lots of "subbing". Monday night is great as mums and their daughters play. Grandmums with granddaughters play. Its about being active together.
